stamp_on_whitePrayer Letter

Dad, could You explain the faith You have in me?
When You look in the mirror, tell me what You see?
That makes You want to share Your inner thoughts
And make me clutch at things that won’t be caught
Your dreams are large and seem so unreal

Your Novice Servant

Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
But God chose the the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.
1 Corinthians 1: 26 – 29

Suppose one of you had a servant . . . . . .. . .. .
Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the feild, ‘Come along now sit down to eat’?
Would he not rather say ‘ Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’?
Would he thank a servant because he did what he was told to do?
So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.
Luke 17: 7- 10

About neilshopecorner

I am Alex Neil Munro. My claim to fame is I am married to Coralie Munro. I have 4 boys & a landrover. (Clearly i’m not good at big decisions) My favourite scripture is 1 Corinthians 1:26 – 29 can’t quote it all but says something about God choosing to use the foolish to shame the Wise.

  1. Mark says:

    New Living Translation (©2007)
    John 8:35
A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.

    Vincent’s Word Studies
A slave has no permanent place in the house. He may be sold, exchanged, or cast out. Compare Genesis 21:10; Galatians 4:30. House. See Hebrews 3:6; John 14:2. The elder son in the parable of the prodigal (Luke 15:29), denies his sonship by the words, “These many years do I serve thee (δουλεύω).”

Let us Remember that we are Son’s who serve.
    Grace and peace.
